Formic Acid
At normal temperature, Formic Acid is a kind of clear, colorless liquid with characteristic of pungent odor and infinite solubility. Formic Acid decomposes easily in the environment into carbon oxides and water. Formic Acid acts as an important intermediate in chemical synthesis and occurs naturally, most notably in the venom of bee and ant stings. Formic Acid density is 1.2201(20/4Deg C), melting point is 8.6 Deg C,boiling point is 100.8 Deg C, flash point in open cup is 68.9 Deg C and auto-ignition temperature is 601.1 Deg C.It can be mutually dissolved with water, ethanol and glycerol. It is corrodible and reducible.
Applications
Formic acid is a kind of basic material in organic chemicals. It is widely used in pesticides industry , leather industry, medicine industry, rubber industry, printing and dyeing industry.
